About Carrie Bates
Carrie Bates holds degrees in Trombone Performance from Western Michigan University and Michigan State University, where she received BFA. and MFA degrees under the direction of Dr. Steve Wolfinbarger and Ava Ordman, respectively.
Living in Mount Pleasant since 2009, Carrie teaches at the College of Charleston as well as privately to area low brass students. She has performed throughout the Lowcountry with Holy City Brass, Charlestowne Brass, Chamber Music Charleston, Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, Beaufort Symphony, Summerville Symphony, Charleston Wind Symphony, North Charleston POPS!, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Charleston Stage, the Piccolo Spoleto festival, The Gatsby Orchestra, Joe Clarke's Big Band, Charleston Opera Theatre and Holy City Lyric Opera.
