About Brett Belanger
Brett Belanger is a bassist residing in Charleston, South Carolina. Originally from Greenville, Brett pursued his interest in playing jazz by studying at the College of Charleston, where he earned a B.A. in jazz performance as well as an Artist Certificate. Shortly after moving to Charleston, Brett began playing professionally all over town and also regionally. He has worked with artists such as Quentin Baxter, Charlton Singleton, Ulysses Owens Jr., Don Braden, Melvin Jones, Leon Anderson, Jon Faddis, Kevin Bales, Spike Wilner, Aimee Nolte, Claire Daly, Randy Napoleon, Scotty Barnhart, Jocelyn Gould, Calixto Oviedo, and Eric McPherson, to name a few. In addition to performing, Brett is also an educator. He is an instructor at both the Gaillard Youth All Stars camp in Charleston and the Hilton Head Jazz Camp. Brett is also a composer and arranger and has had several arrangements premiered by the Charleston Jazz Orchestra.
