Jack McGirr, a musician, soloist, lead trumpeter and brass teacher, earned a masters degree in music from Indiana University Bloomington. As a lifetime student of the trumpet, his most notable teachers were John Coffey of the Boston Symphony, William Adam of Indiana University and Bob McCoy of NBC's Tonight Show band.

Jack has a wide performance background, including with The Albany Symphony, The Glenn Miller Band, and the pit orchestra of the American Music Theater in Nashville, TN. He has also performed with many of America's musical celebrities, including the Four Tops, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Lainie Kazan, Leslie Ughams, Peter Frampton, and Joe Williams. Also, to his credit, Jack has been a brass clinician and coach for the trumpet section of the All County Jazz Festival at the State University of New York in Cobleskill, NY; meanwhile, he was a 1st trumpet and featured soloist performing in the show bands of the Catskill Mountains for two decades.
