About Kyle Lane

Kyle Lane is a freelance trumpet player, composer, arranger, and General Manager of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. Originally from Denver Colorado, Kyle received his Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and his Master of Music from the Mannes College of music. Notable performances have included playing with the Canadian Brass, Doc Severinsen, Wycliffe Gordon, John Faddis, Mark Bryan, Johnny Mathis, Mary Poppins (on Broadway), former First Lady Laura Bush, Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Weisel, and the former president of France; Nicolas Sarkozy.  Kyle performs regularly with the Charleston Symphony brass quintet, the Charleston Jazz Orchestra, Charleston Stage, and the Joe Clarke Big Band.  Kyle has arranged works for the Charleston Symphony and Ranky Tanky, and has been commissioned to write a fanfare for the opening of the Gaillard Center by the city of Charleston.
