The Southeastern Chamber’s Legislative Affairs Council will recognized Charleston County’s newly elected female Sheriff- Kristin Graziano. Other invited officials to share the platform with the honorees include 5 new school board members, along with Congresswoman-Elect Nancy Mace and South Carolina State Rep. Chardale Murray.
The council is slated to highlight Re-elected candidates representing various offices as well.
CDC GUIDELINES/COVID-19 SAFETY: The purpose of the 2 seatings is to ensure that safety measures and crowd control is monitored well due to covid. The building will be fogged and disinfected between seatings by a certified CDC cleaning company provided by the Chamber. Masked are required and temperature checks will be administered upon entering the building.
ATTIRE/ADDITIONAL LOGISTICS: The attire is business dressy. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, and cash bar will be available. A Live Jazz band will perform at both seatings, and there will be an official inauguration ceremony at both seatings.
PARKING: As in any downtown metro, street parking is on a first come, first serve basis. Parking garages can be accessed within walking distance of the venues. Honorees can be dropped off at the entrance of the building. Special attendants will be in place to welcome them.
CEREMONY: The inauguration ceremony will be brief and non-official verbiage will be sent to all honorees in advance, along with a copy of the program. It will be a formal swearing-in process with similar verbiage used at annual legislative receptions held by the Chamber. The official will be asked to repeat after the moderator and place their hand on the Bible. Other family members or desired guests of the official will be able to join the platform during this time period. Photo ops and a remark period will be given to each candidate.
WHO ELSE IS ATTENDING: Constituents will consist of Chamber members, local business owners, entrepreneurs, fellow elected officials, leaders, campaign staff, general community, along with family and friends of the honorees. This is not a women-only reception. MEN ARE WELCOMED AND HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.
